Guild Executive Board
This is Colleen’s second year on the Board, she was the K-2 Parent Representative in 2015-2016. She has four children, two daughters at MTA (2nd Grade & Kindergarten), a son at MTA Pre-K, and a baby at home. She is the Leader of MTA Daisy Troop 400. Prior to having children, Colleen was a middle school teacher and hopes to return to the classroom in some capacity in the coming years.
This is Sonja’s second year on the Board, she was a Co-Vice President in 2015-2016. She has 3 daughters; Ashli a Madison #1, Sunnyslope, and ASU Alumni, Delaney is in 4th, and Sammi is in 2nd. She is a Software Consultant in the HR & Payroll industry. Sonja is very excited to be a member of the Guild and a part of the MTA Community.
Barton has 2 children, both at MTA, a daughter in 5th grade and a son in 2nd. This is his first year serving as Vice President. He was the President of the MTA Dad’s Club for 2014/2015 and 2015/2016. He owns Painting Arizona Inc., a commercial painting company. His favorite hobby, other than spending time with his children, is photography.
Brett will be serving his first year on the Guild Board after serving a two-year term on the SITE Council. Brett and his wife Lindsey have three children: Isabel is in MTA 4th grade, Stanley is in MTA Kindergarten and Elsie will be in MTA Kindergarten in three years. Brett has had a variety of rolls in the public and private sector and now serves as the Executive Director of the Public Service Academy at Arizona State University.
This is Brigitte’s first year on the Board. She and her husband have two children, a daughter (Spencer) who is a sophomore at Sunnyslope High School and attended MTA for 5th through 8th grades, and a son (Skyler) who is a 6th grader at MTA and has attended MTA since 1st grade. Brigitte works full-time as an attorney and has been actively involved with the Guild for the past four years.
This is Christina’s 1st year as a member of the Guild board. She has one student at MTA; Nicolette started in Preschool and will be going into the 3rd grade. She is an IT Program Manager for CVS Health. She is also a co-leader for Girl Scout Troop 400, and loves to do any type of crafts.
6-8 Parent Representative
In charge of eHoots/Hoots N Hollers for a second year and liaison for Back to School packs/Teacher Supply Closet, Lunch Duty/Playground Support, and Library. She has two sons – Ryan a 7th grader at MTA and Connor a 5th grader in the REACH program at Madison #1. She is on the Women’s Auxiliary Board for NotMyKid non-profit and a tutor for the OASIS program in the Madison School District.
This is Amy’s first year on the MTA Guild Board. Her daughter, Ella, is in the second grade and has been attending MTA since preschool. Amy has always been involved in some capacity of volunteering at MTA, including being a homeroom mom, Friday Folders, and lunch duty. Amy is looking forward to taking a more active role at MTA and the MTA Guild this year working on the eHoots/Hoot N Hollers. Amy works full-time as a Social Worker at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. In her spare time, Amy enjoys spending time with her daughter, raising awareness and fundraising for HIV/AIDS and Breast Cancer organizations, and Pure Barre.
K-2 Parent Representative
This is Lynn’s first year serving on the Guild Board as the K-2 parent representative. She is the proud mother of Max who will be entering 1st grade. In addition to volunteering at MTA, she is the President of a private family foundation. Lynn is looking forward to helping support the MTA community, as she and her husband Clifford are both Madison alumni.
3-5 Parent Representative
This is Heather’s first year on the Board. Her children have been attending MTA since 2008. Her oldest children now attend Sunnyslope and her other children are in 2nd, 6th and 8th grade at MTA. She has always been involved in some capacity of volunteering at MTA, including being a homeroom Mom several times, Art Masterpiece volunteer, Lost and Found chair, and co-chair of the Original Works program. She looks forward to a great year helping the school that has given so much to her children.
Dad's Club President
Greg has 6 children, one at MTA, a son in 3rd grade. He has 2 adult children who both attended Sunnyslope High School. He also has a son who is a sophomore in high school and twin three-year-old boys (who will be MTA students in a few years!) This is his third year of involvement in the MTA Dad’s Club and he is serving as the President of the MTA Dad’s Club for 2017/2018. He owns Fish Construction, a commercial construction company. He enjoys spending time with his kids doing outdoor activities like camping and boating.
